The Story of Madeirismos
A small company that makes toys and games all handmade with passion, headquartered in Paredes, one of Portugal's furniture capitals.
The Project
Madeirismos is made up of two people. We are headquartered in Paredes, recognized as one of the furniture 'capitals', and as such, our professional background also passed through this industry. The experience gained is put to use to make these toys.
The workshop where we work was built by us, as well as some of the machinery. The machinery is very basic as much of the work is done by hand.
We started in the furniture industry, but our professional paths have changed over the years. For reasons that were unrelated, we had to face the decision to start a business, something we had been planning for some time.
It's not about what we do or who we are, it's about how we are, how we think, what moves us, what you can expect from us.

We are passionate about wood and handwork, creating each piece with dedication and care.
Educational Focus
We want to be involved in the educational process of children, developing products suitable for the satisfactory realization of playing.
Dynamic & Interactive
We believe we make the difference by building dynamic toys, wooden toys that are interactive and challenging.
Sustainability: Our Motto
In addition to using wood as the main raw material, a sustainable product, we also use some iron for the mechanisms. Some games have electronics to account for the points.
Artisanal Production Methods
The production methods are quite artisanal. It is common to find some imperfections and asymmetries in toys, typical of manufacture. There are some electrical machines, but whenever possible, we use renewable energy to feed them from solar and wind sources, produced in the factory itself.
Each imperfection tells a story of human craftsmanship and care.
